Champs Info - Please Read

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND

Please read this information that was sent out from the Champs Meet Director.

Date – July 18-19, 2026

Location – American River College (4700 College Oak Dr.)

Setup

  • Setup crews will be setting up the deck on Friday 4-6:00pm.
  • Families can setup their personal areas on Friday evening after the setup crews are finished. The Meet Director will give the okay for when teams/families can set up their personal areas (approximately 6:00-7:00 pm). NO setup after 7:00pm.
  • The deck needs to be set up first! Anyone setting up before the Meet Director has given the okay will be asked to remove their belongings and wait.
  • Set up goes quicker when everyone pitches in to help!

Team Areas (see attached map for AP team area)

  • NO ALCOHOL or smoking, vaping, marijuana use, etc. - grounds for removal from the meet.
  • No tarps or tents with tarp bottoms on the ground at all. Breathable carpeting or towels are ok. They must be picked up off the ground at night.
  • Pop-ups can be left overnight but must be lowered. HIGHLY recommend weighing popups down. Not recommended to leave anything of value.
  • No dogs, skateboards, or bicycles are allowed in the facility.

Parking (see attached maps)

  • Free parking will be limited to ONLY levels 1-3 in the parking garage and the sectioned off open parking lot next to the stadium. All other parking will have a $2 per day parking fee. Parking fees will be strictly enforced, you will be subject to ticketing at your own expense.
  • Absolutely no parking in Staff spots, you will be subject to ticketing and/or towing at your own expense.
  • Additional free parking can be found in the surrounding neighborhood. All street parking laws are strictly enforced; you will be subject to ticketing or towing at your own expense.

Check in: 6:30 am (Saturday and Sunday) - do not be late or you will be scratched

AP Warm-Ups: 7:35-8:00am in lanes 4-8

Meet Start: 8:30 am

Deck Rules

  • Closed Deck: swimmers, current shift volunteers, deck pass holders and Coaches ONLY
  • No photography or video behind the blocks

Scoring/Timing System

  • We will use Swimtopia for ‘2026 Gold Rush Championships’
  • Time Drops code: 2026 for live scoreboard. Will also post hard copy results.
  • The live scoreboard will be the prime display – reminder to parents that if the scoreboard is not accurate because of timer equipment failure, it will be handled with computer ops based on buttons and a backup stopwatch.

Snack Bar

  • There will NOT be a snack bar at Champs this year. There will be some food trucks for food purchases but please plan accordingly. Pack food and plenty of water for the day.

Award Ceremonies

  • 6&Under awards ceremony will be on Saturday directly after the Backstroke Finals
  • Ages 7&Up awards ceremony will be Sunday after clean-up (team areas cleared out, deck cleared off, and trash picked up).
