NOTES FROM THE COACH

Hello Dolphins! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Reminder - there is no practice tomorrow (5/25).

The deadline to declare for this weekend’s meet against Del Norte is tonight at midnight. Please log in to SwimTopia and declare your swimmer’s attendance ASAP. This is our first conference meet of the season, and it will count toward our league standings. We need all AP Dolphins there!

Home Meet Schedule

Check-In: 6:30 AM Scratches will begin promptly at 6:50 AM, and all swimmers must be checked in by that time and ready for warm ups. To be considered checked in, a coach must physically see your swimmer. Timely check-in is extremely important to help the meet start and run on schedule. Delays in the check-in process can cause the meet to run long, which is not permitted by the Park District. In addition, the facility must be fully cleaned up and cleared, and we are required to be off the pool deck by 2:00 PM.

Warm-Ups:

• 11 & Up: 6:55–7:10 AM
• 9/10: 7:10–7:20 AM
• 7/8: 7:20–7:30 AM
• 6 & Under: 7:30–7:35 AM (optional – 2 laps)

Cheer: 8:10 AM at the picnic tables

Relays: Swimmers age 10 and under will receive a relay slip if they are participating in a medley or freestyle relay. Medley relays should report to the blocks/deck end of the pool immediately after cheer.

We had a few missing swimmers at the last meet. If one swimmer misses a relay, the entire relay is disqualified. Please make sure your child reports to the correct location on time. The relay slip will tell them where to go.

Please note:

• Team parents are not responsible for getting swimmers to relays
• Swimmers do not report to the ready bench for relays

This week we will continue working on:

• All four strokes
• Starts and finishes
• Endurance training
• Keeping our breaststroke and butterfly legal

DOLPHIN DUOS & DONUTS

Grab your duo and have a donut this Saturday at the swim meet. The donuts will be provided at the Dolphin Duo table near the bathrooms. Note - you must have your duo with you to get your donut! 

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Heads up! There will be no practice tomorrow, Monday, May 25, in honor of Memorial Day.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We still need to fill three jobs for the meet this weekend (5/30):

• 1st shift Stroke & Turn Judge
• 2nd shift Stroke & Turn Judge
• 9/10 boys team parent
