AP Dolphins Articles of Incorporation

We are making progress but we are still 59 (42%) household votes away from passing the articles of incorporation amendment. If you have not taken the time to vote, please do so ASAP. We need 100% of our families to participate in the vote so it is important that each Dolphin family take the time to vote. If you did not receive the email from SimplyVoting.com, please reply to this email and let me know so we can resend the email.

Notes from the Coach

There have been lots of questions about swim practice this week. Yes, we have practice! Same time as normal unless you have received an email that says differently (11 ups, we are working on those changes now). We understand it is Spring Break for the majority of our swimmers, I hope everyone has a great break and Easter. This week we will not be adding a new stroke. We will work on our Freestyle and Backstroke (for 7 ups). We will work on dives, turns, and finishes. We will not be using fins this week. Coaches would like ALL ages to have fins! If you have not bought your fins yet, please do so as soon as possible

The 2 week swim trial ends on April 15th. If you do not hear from me by then, your swimmer has passed the assessment period. However, please continue to talk to younger swimmers about paying attention when they are on the wall, listening to coaches, eyes and ears out of the water when waiting for instruction etc. Safety is our number one priority!

Stroke & Turn Judges

We are excited (and grateful) to have Laura Sperry and Sam Mockford back as our Head Stroke & Turn Judges this season and they are looking for other parents that are interested in being Stroke & Turn judges. If you are interested, please consider attending this training hosted by the Sunrise Sharks:

• Stroke & Turn Judge and Starter Clinic at Rusch Pool (7801 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights - on bleachers by the dive tank) on Wednesday, April 30th 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
• This training is for anyone interested in serving as Stroke & Turn Judge, Early Takeoff Judge, or Starter.
• For those who are interested in those volunteer positions but can't make the league training, Laura and Sam will host 2 refreshers on Zoom in early May. Date/time TBA.
• If you have questions about these volunteer positions, please email me and I will get you in contact with Sam and Laura.

Swimo de Mayo: Save the Date!

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your help to make it a success!

When: Friday, May 2^nd during your swimmer’s regular practice time

What to do now:

• Check your inbox for an email from [email protected] with your swimmer’s personal fundraising link. It should have come last week.
• Share the team’s fundraising link from 99 Pledges!

Parent Participation Needed at the Event!

We need parents during their swimmers' swim times (especially 6&Unders, 7/8s, and
9/10s sessions) to count laps and cheer on the swimmers. Please plan to attend during your child’s swim time!

Prizes:

• Top 3 individual fundraisers will win awesome prizes (e.g., Coach of the Day!)
• The age group that raises the most money will earn a popsicle party
• More fun prizes will be available based on how much each swimmer raises. Stay
  tuned for details!

Event Schedule (Friday, 5/2):

4:30 – 5:00 PM → U6
5:00 – 5:45 PM → 7/8s
5:45 – 6:30 PM → 9/10s
6:30 – 7:30 PM → 11/12s & 13–18s

Wait! There’s more:

• The bead lady will be handing out a specialty bead to all participants.
• There will be nachos and music
• A photo booth will be setup for swimmers after they swim their laps.
